Lobster & Crab Feast
We pay tribute to Clovelly's famous lobsters and crabs with a day of live folk music, theatre including a lobster hypnotist, local craft and food stalls, quay kitchen with demonstrations, wine tasting and entertainment for the children too.

It's worth mentioning that Bideford Bay lobsters were once under threat until a 'no take zone' was set up around Lundy Island and just a few years on, there has been a threefold increase in the numbers of landable lobsters.

It’s a Feast, which visitors say has a particularly happy festive atmosphere.

Herring Festival
The Herring Festival is held to promote sustainable, carefully managed fishing, which helps safeguard the livelihoods of fishermen and supports the local economy through environmentally sound means. Clovelly’s sweet herring was once its staple economy and so a well-justified reason for celebrating the Silver Darlings.

There’ll be herring dishes, local cider and wine, maritime historian, Mike Smylie, with his Kipperland exhibition and freshly-smoked kippers and bloaters, traditional shanty singers, walk-about theatre and lots of stalls.
